Shaumburg, IL — August 30, 2024, two people were injured following a dual truck accident shortly before 1:45 p.m. along Interstate Highway 90.

According to authorities, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of I.H. 90 in the vicinity of Meacham Road.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between an 18-wheeler and a dump truck. Photos of the scene which have been published in the news show that the 18-wheeler and it's trailer were overturned over the course of the accident, coming to a stop resting on their right sides.

The drivers of each of the trucks suffered injuries of unknown severity, according to reports. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
