Commentary
This is certainly not the sort of situation one sees every day. However, work accidents are very common, and that sometimes leads people to think they're simple. That's not really true. In fact, Texas has the most complex work injury laws of any other state in the country. Put simply, there isn't always a guaranteed path to getting benefits depending on the employer's subscriber status. As such, it's best victims and families know as much about their options as possible ahead of time. The earlier they're able to advocate for their needs, the more likely they are to meet those needs.
