Francisco Javier Arriaga Ortiz Killed in Truck Accident on I.H. 30 in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX — February 10, 2024, Francisco Javier Arriaga Ortiz was killed in a truck accident just after 6:00 a.m. along I.H. 30, Tom Landry Freeway.
According to authorities, a Freightliner towing a trailer and a Chrysler Town & Country minivan occupied by 56-year-old Francisco Javier Arriaga Ortiz were traveling eastbound in high traffic conditions on Tom Landry Freeway, I.H. 30, in the vicinity of Cockrell Hill Road when the accident took place.

The minivan was reportedly behind the 18-wheeler. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Freightliner stalled out, becoming disabled in the inside eastbound lane of the freeway. The minivan allegedly tried to swerve right, but was ultimately unable to avoid a collision. The front left corner of the minivan collided with the back right corner of the 18-wheeler's trailer. Ortiz incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash. No other injuries have been reported.
