Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to accidents where one person is seriously injured, there's a concern about where authorities are getting their information from. As much as people assume authorities always base reports on cold, hard facts, the reality is many reports end up being just statements from those involved in the accident. Well, if one person is rushed to the hospital and isn't able to give their side of the story, it can lead to reports which aren't telling all the facts. If investigators don't fill in the blanks with clear evidence, it can leave victims and families in a position where they have to find someone to tell their side of the story for them. Hopefully authorities were careful not to overlook anything here, but it's something that warrants consideration before anyone starts jumping to conclusions.
