1 Injured in Truck Accident on F.M. 1774 in Grimes County, TX
Grimes County, TX — January 9, 2024, one person was injured in a truck accident shortly before 9:30 in the morning along Farm to Market 1774.
According to reports, a 49-year-old man was traveling in a westbound 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow on Farm to Market 1774 in the vicinity east of Legge Road when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered off of the right side of the road, the right wheels entering the grassy shoulder. At that point, the load on the trailer was allegedly lost; it came to rest in a roadside ditch. The tractor-trailer continued on, coming to a stop only after veering further to the right where it collided with a wire fence.
The man, who had been the sole occupant to the vehicle, incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
