3 Injured in Truck Accident on F.M. 78 in Universal City, TX
Bexar County, TX — February 5, 2024, three people were injured in a truck accident just after 1:15 p.m. along Farm to Market 78.
According to authorities, a Freightliner 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow was traveling westbound on F.M. 78 attempting a left turn onto southbound F.M. 1518 when the accident took place.

At the same time, a Mitsubishi Lancer occupied by two 17-year-old women and an 18-year-old man was traveling eastbound on F.M. 78 approaching the same intersection. Officials indicate that the Mitsubishi may have been traveling at high speeds leading up to the accident. Reports state that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the 18-wheeler was unable to safely complete the left turn before being involved in a collision with the Mitsubishi.
One of the women and the man from the Mitsubishi incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck, while the other woman sustained apparently moderate injuries. All three were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
