Adam Uster Killed in Bicycle, Truck Accident in Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn, NY — May 1, 2023, Adam Uster was killed due to a truck versus bicycle accident at around 11:30 a.m. along Franklyn Avenue.
Investigators with the New York Police Department said that the incident happened at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Lexington Avenue.

Details suggest that 39-year-old Adam Uster, a local cycling advocate, was riding southbound through the intersection while pulling a trailer full of groceries. Uster was said to be in the bike lane at the time. Reports and images of the scene indicate that the bike lane at Franklin and Lexington is unprotected but clearly marked. While crossing the intersection, it appears a flatbed truck attempted to make a right turn across the bike lane, hitting Uster in the process.
Due to the collision, Uster sustained fatal injuries. Authorities did not say that anyone else was hurt in the collision. They also have not mentioned any pending charges or citations at this time. Their investigations are ongoing.
