Pedestrian Killed, 1 Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on I-10 in Kerr County, TX
Kerr County, TX — April 6, 2025, a pedestrian was killed and another was injured due to a semi-truck accident at around 3:50 a.m. along Interstate 10.
Authorities say that the collision happened a couple of miles east of Fredricksburg Road just outside of Kerrville.

According to initial statements, two men, ages 38 and 21, were on foot in the area of eastbound I-10. While it's unclear where they were or what they were doing, there is no indication of the pedestrians failing to yield to traffic. Officials say a Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, the truck left its lane. As a result, the 18-wheeler struck both pedestrians.
Reports say the 21-year-old man was killed in the collision. The 38-year-old had reportedly serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. No charges were reported. Additional details are unavailable.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There isn't a lot of information about what exactly happened here, but there seems to be no indication these pedestrians were doing anything wrong. For all we know, they had a breakdown and were waiting for assistance when a truck apparently failed to maintain its lane and hit them. That could happen for all kinds of reasons, and one of the primary ways of finding out is making sure to collect all electronic data surrounding the accident. Here's what that can entail.
Most obvious—pretty much the first thing my team and I look at after any serious truck wreck investigations—are the cell phone records. This can shed light on call or text logs, internet history, and even GPS data in the moments leading up to the collision. Additionally, the truck's Engine Control Module (ECM) can show details about speeding, braking, and maybe even steering input. Hours of service logs could show how long the driver had been behind the wheel. And if there is a dash cam or a camera inside the cabin, that, too, could prove vital for figuring out why the truck left its lane so suddenly.
If authorities are looking into all of this and share their findings with the victims and families affected by this crash, then that can be a good sign they're taking the investigations seriously and ensuring no stone goes unturned. But if it seems these details are lacking, and authorities aren't taking steps to address the concerns of the victims and families, it may be that getting the whole story will require another set of eyes looking things over.
