Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Single-vehicle accidents are sometimes complex not necessarily due to the crash itself but due to how they're often treated. In my experience, crashes like this are sometimes treated as a low priority. This can leave officers without the tools, time, or training needed to do a proper accident reconstruction. As such, it's sometimes necessary to have independent investigators step in. Either they can confirm that police did a good job, or they can catch important information authorities let slip through the cracks. Either way, victims and families involved in serious crashes deserve to have all the facts.
