2 Injured in Alleged DWI Accident on Trenton Road in Edinburg, TX
Edinburg, TX — February 8, 2025, two people sustained injuries as the result of an alleged DWI accident at around 2:00 a.m. along Trenton Road.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened at the intersection of Trenton Road and Business 281.

According to officials, an allegedly intoxicated driver ran a red light, following which authorities attempted to pull over the driver. That vehicle continued until it reportedly ran another light at Trenton and BU-281 where it crashed into a pickup.
Two people in the pickup were taken to a hospital for treatment. The allegedly intoxicated driver was arrested for DWI, evading arrest and reckless driving. The accident remains under investigation.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If these allegations are true, that certainly warrants appropriate consequences. However, charging the reported reckless driver alone may not be the whole story. For example, was alcohol the intoxicant here? At 2:00 a.m., a lot of intoxicated drivers are coming from a local bar. If investigations show that the bar unlawfully over-served the alleged drunk driver, they, too, may have consequences to face. This could include criminal investigations, fines, or even liability for the injuries resulting from the intoxication. Maybe that doesn't apply here, or maybe authorities have already begun looking into this possibility. However, it wouldn't be unusual if there was more to this story that still needed attention.
