Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
I certainly don't know more about this crash than what's already public. But did investigators ever look into a possible vehicle defect here? While not entirely common, it could help explain why only one person was injured here—seriously so. Sometimes, that's a sign that something like an airbag or seatbelt malfunction occurred. Or, sometimes the actual structural integrity of the vehicle itself is subpar, and that could take extensive inspections authorities don't often conduct on their own. It's possible further investigations would show there was more to this crash than initial reports suggested.
