Commentary
When it comes to single-vehicle wrecks, people may be surprised how often authorities just move on without really getting the whole story. I get calls all the time from folks who feel authorities either treated their situation as a low priority or were more focused on blaming someone than actually getting the full story.
Sometimes, this is due to a lack of experience officers or due to officers not having access to proper accident reconstruction tools. Other times, authorities fail to consider complex or unusual possible factors, like vehicle defects, issues with signage, medical conditions, or objects in the road. Ultimately, if it seems authorities aren't addressing the concerns of victims and families, it can be a sign the crash needs to be in the hands of more experienced, more thorough independent accident reconstructionists. Whether or not that would be necessary here remains to be scene.
