Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it's true that alcohol contributed to this accident, simply recommending charges for the alleged drunk driver may not be the end of the story. It's important to know where that alcohol from. Bars and other alcohol providers can be responsible for contributing to accidents if they unlawfully over-served the drunk driver. Too often, though, authorities miss this. They get tunnel vision that makes their efforts begin and end at the crash scene. For victims to see a proper resolution though, the investigations have to go beyond the surface and ensure that all parties responsible for the accident face appropriate consequences.
