Eastland County, TX — December 12, 2025, a man was killed and two were injured due to a dual 18-wheeler accident at 1:38 a.m. along I-20.

Preliminary information about the accident says that it took place between Highway 16 and Tudor Road, south of Strawn.

According to officials, a 23-year-old driver and a 28-year-old passenger were in an 18-wheeler going westbound on the interstate. A second 18-wheeler was going the same direction. The trucks reportedly crossed paths and collided.

Due to the accident, the passenger from the first tractor-trailer was killed. The two truck drivers involved had reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

Were the drivers qualified? Were they within their hours of service limits? Was the passenger who was killed on the clock at the time, or were they in a sleeper berth? Were they someone just along for the ride, such as a romantic partner or family member? Do the authorities have the proper tools and training for such a challenging commercial truck wreck investigation?

By asking these sorts of questions early on, there can be consideration for how authorities are handling the investigations. If it seems like they have everything under control, that's good. But if their answers are coming up short, that may be a sign that independent investigators need to step in.
