Gonzalo Gonzalez Killed in Work Accident in San Antonio, TX
San Antonio, TX — May 10, 2025, Gonzalo Gonzalez was killed as the result of a work accident which took place along Rigsby Avenue.
Investigators said that the incident happened just off the corner of Rigsby Avenue and Foster Road, near China Grove.
The initial states from OSHA don't give a cause for the accident that killed 56-year-old Gonzalo Gonzalez. The report did list four alleged serious violation citations as well as a recommended penalty. Further specifics are unavailable.
The case was labeled "closed" by OSHA.

People tend to think a work accident begins and ends with the OSHA investigations. They look into things, find mistakes, and issue their citations. The reality, though, is this only covers what OSHA is there to do. It does virtually nothing for the worker's family, who may still be left with unanswered questions and no solution even months following the accident.
Simply put, Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the country. It's a maze that takes a lot of clear evidence and legal strategy to navigate. There isn't always an automatic process for getting families through that maze, so many families end up having to seek out independent professionals who will prioritize their needs and deal with the victim's employer on their behalf. Generally speaking, that's how there can be solutions beyond just an OSHA report.
Perhaps all of that happened behind the scenes already here. That said, it wouldn't be the first time a fatal work accident in Texas still lacked a proper resolution even a long time after it happened.
