Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People sometimes think situations like this are open-and-shut, but they can involve all kinds of complex factors that require thorough investigations. Electrical work, rental property maintenance, potential appliance defects, botched installation or repair work, gas leaks, etc. Likely or not, the victim's loved ones deserve to know all possible factors have been thoroughly explored and at least ruled out.
