Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
What concerns me here is the unusual timing of this crash. Frankly, single-vehicle wrecks are a lot more common late at night or early in the morning when factors like fatigue are likely. But in the middle of the day, it raises the possibility something far less likely happened. Was there a mechanical defect? Road hazards? A tire blowout? A medical emergency? Frankly, that's not the sort of stuff authorities tend to look into on their own. If this ended up being a situation where authorities left a family with unanswered questions and doubts, it would unfortunately be far from the first time. Hopefully more thorough investigations have already been underway.
