Jerrad Ringler, Harley Ringler, Stephanie Dawson Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in Manor, TX
Travis County, TX — February 22, 2025, Jerrad Ringler, Harley Ringler, and Stephanie Dawson were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at 3:30 a.m. on U.S. 290.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of the U.S. Highway 290 and F.M. 973 intersection.
Investigators said that 50-year-old Jerrad Ringler and 29-year-old Harley Ringler were in a Dodge Ram going eastbound on the highway. 33-year-old Stephanie Dawson was in a Chevy Silverado also going eastbound. It appears a Nissan Frontier traveling the same direction failed to control speed, crashing into both of the other vehicles as well as multiple others.
Due to the collision, Jerrad Ringler was seriously injured while Harley Ringler's injuries were less severe. Stephanie Dawson had possibly minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, authorities allege that the Nissan driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Right now, additional details are unavailable.

If the allegations are true, that this was caused by drunk driving, I'd hope to see more details about where that alleged drunk driver was coming from. This early in the morning, there's a strong possibility a drunk driver was drinking at a local bar, and that could mean that bar is complicit in causing this crash. Let me explain.
In Texas, it is unlawful for an alcohol provider to serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Doing so can expose the provider to potential criminal investigations, fines, license suspensions, and liability for resulting injuries or deaths. Not only does this help ensure there are proper consequences for wrongdoers, it actually helps make the roads safer by getting those establishments to clean up their act.
Unfortunately, this is something that too often goes overlooked. Authorities will typically charge a drunk driver, then move on. In the hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers I've handled, that would never be acceptable for victims or their families. They wanted to know all responsible parties were being held accountable. Anything short of that was just not good enough. It remains to be seen, then, if authorities have worked to ensure a just conclusion for those involved in this accident.
