Something I talk about a lot is the importance of taking early details with a grain of salt. It can surprise folks how often something like this can involve factors authorities aren't equipped to handle, like mechanical defects, for example. At the end of the day, there should always be a thorough investigation to consider all possibilities, even if it's just to rule them out. There's no telling when factors even the victim didn't know about may have led to the crash.
