Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After a chaotic crash like this, the details are likely going to be pretty scattered. That's why something I talk about a lot on this blog is making sure a crash is in the right hands. Authorities may be able to conduct thorough investigations, but that can vary from department to department. If officers aren't given the time or tools needed to do the job right, important details can slip through the cracks. If people want to be sure their side of the story is told fairly, it can be prudent to find out if authorities are missing anything important and bring in another set of eyes to catch whatever may have slipped through the cracks.
