Maria Segura Injured in Car Accident in Hill County, TX
Hill County, TX — December 12, 2025, Maria Segura was injured as the result of a car accident that happened around 11:30 p.m. on I-35W.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash took place at the I-35 split in Hillsboro.
Investigators said that 68-year-old Maria Segura was a passenger in a Ford F-150 going northbound at the split. While doing so, their vehicle collided with another going the same direction. That other vehicle then reportedly left the scene.
Due to the accident, Maria Segura was reportedly seriously injured. No other injuries were confirmed. At this time, it's unclear if authorities identified or charged any suspects.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If authorities have yet to identify a suspect driver, it would likely help if they could release more details to the public. Hit-and-runs are often resolved when someone in the public is able to connect the dots and come forward with new information. In order for that to happen, though, authorities have to be as thorough as possible in their investigation. The more information the public has to work with, the better the chances someone will know something. Even weeks or months after a hit-and-run, there can be a proper resolution. I remain hopeful there will eventually be a proper conclusion here and that those affected will see a runaway driver brought to answer for their actions—that is, so long as authorities keep up the pressure.
