Sarah Maake Killed, Two Children Injured in Tire Blow Out Accident on I-45 in Leon County, TX
Leon County, TX — July 19, 2023, Sarah Maake was killed and two children were injured in a single-vehicle accident around 7:54 a.m. on I-45 in Leon County.
According to officials, Ms. Maake, an eight-year-old girl, and a twelve-year-old girl were heading north in a Ford Excursion when one of the vehicle's rear tires reportedly blew out and forced the vehicle out of control.
The SUV allegedly entered into a rollover accident and resulted in Ms. Maake's death. The two girls were purportedly airlifted with serious injuries to McLane Children’s Hospital.
Investigators have not reported what caused the tire to pop.
