With any serious crash, it's important steps are taken early to preserve evidence, as much of it is time-sensitive. For example, did authorities find any cameras that captured the incident on video? Did the bus have any cameras? Did witnesses have dash cams? Did any nearby businesses or residences have cameras with a view of the road? Electronic evidence tends to be frequently overwritten or erased. If authorities didn't look for that sort of thing, it could raise red flags about what else they may be missing.
