Teen Killed in Hit-and-run Accident on Marsha Sharp in Lubbock, TX
Lubbock, TX — May 27, 2023, a teenager was killed as the result of an accident where a vehicle hit them at around 5:00 a.m. along Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Authorities said that the incident happened along Marsha Sharp Freeway in the area of University Medical Center.

Initial details at this time suggest that a 17-year-old girl was walking when she somehow crossed paths with a westbound vehicle. That westbound vehicle hit the girl, then apparently left the scene.
The teenage girl was taken to a hospital where she ultimately died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident. The girl has been publicly identified, however the name won't be included here due to the victim being a minor.
Police say they identified the vehicle involved in the accident. However, it's unclear at this time if any charges are being filed. Factors surrounding the fatal accident are still under investigation.
