Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
It obviously stands out that authorities are looking into alcohol here, specifically due to the age of the driver. But this isn't important just to find out the cause of the crash. It would also raise serious questions about where a teenager got their alcohol from. There are many possible answers, but I've often had cases against negligent alcohol providers who were willing to or inept enough to sell alcohol to people who were underage. Those establishments are generally breaking all kinds of rules, which makes it crucial to bring them to light and see they're held accountable—especially if their actions led to people getting hurt.
