3 Injured in Truck Train Accident on Hwy. 41 near Bolingbroke, GA
Bolingbrok, GA — December 5, 2023, three people were injured in a truck train accident at approximately 8:00 a.m. along Highway 41.
According to authorities, the accident took place on Highway 41 at the exit for the Hanson Rock Quarry.
As the truck driver approached the highway, he allegedly did not notice the approaching train as he crossed onto the railroad tracks. The resulting collision dragged the dump truck for approximately 50 feet before the train was able to come to a stop. Three people—the dump truck driver, the train conductor, and the train engineer—were injured as a result of the accident; all three were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment.
The accident is still under active investigation by local authorities.
