Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After any car accident, it's important to consider this: Did authorities give the crash their full attention? I've been handling serious car accident cases for decades now. It would shock people how often authorities simply moved on without actually digging into all possible details. This can lead to inaccurate or incomplete reports.
That's why it's sometimes up to independent investigators to pick up the slack. At worst, they might just confirm what authorities already said. At best, though, they can bring new details to light that completely change the story. Maybe authorities here were thorough on their own, but it's important to take early details with a grain of salt until there's some certainty that all the evidence is available.
