Mikyiel Trayvonne Brooks Killed in Hit-and-run Accident in Hickory Creek, TX
Denton County, TX — May 6, 2023, Mikyiel Trayvonne Brooks was fatally injured due to a hit-and-run accident at approximately 11:26 p.m. on I-35E.
Local officials along with Denton and Tarrant County officials reported that the incident happened along southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Oak Drive.

Details suggest that 21-year-old Mikyiel Trayvonne Brooks was the driver of a Ford Mustang that had been going southbound along the interstate. Somehow, it appears that a 2015 Maroon Chevy Silverado rear-ended Brooks, causing Brooks's vehicle to then crash into a barrier.
As a result of the accident, Brooks apparently had incapacitating injuries. Officials say that Brooks later succumbed to those injuries. Two people from the Silverado who have not been publicly identified apparently left the scene of the accident. It's unclear at this time if authorities have identified or charges those individuals. Investigations are ongoing.
