Lucio Garcia, Magdaline Puentes Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX
Houston, TX — December 25, 2025, Lucio Garcia and Magdaline Puentes were injured following a car accident at around 8:21 p.m. along Highway 225.
Investigators said that the accident happened off the corner of the Highway 225 and Allen Genoa Road intersection.
It appears that 39-year-old Lucio Garcia and 47-year-old Magdaline Puentes were in a Kia Forte that broke down along westbound lanes of the highway. While there, a westbound Toyota Tacoma crashed into the Kia. Due to this, Lucio Garcia and Magdaline Puentes sustained serious injuries.
No other injuries were confirmed. Authorities allege that the Toyota driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Officials recommended charges.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
The challenge with alleged drunk driver accidents is that the drunk drivers aren't always the only ones who need to be held responsible. In Texas, alcohol providers can also face consequences if they unlawfully over-served that driver. Whether it's a bar, restaurant, liquor store, or even a gas station, establishments that break the law and contribute to drunk driving accidents can answer for their mistakes.
However, authorities tend to overlook this area of the law. I've handled more cases against negligent alcohol providers than just about any other firm in the state of Texas. The reality is authorities typically move on once there's a driver facing charges. But if a negligent alcohol provider gets to continue business as usual, more people are bound to get hurt. That's why accidents like this need thorough investigations behind the scenes to ensure all responsible parties answer for their actions. Is that happening here?
