Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People tend to overlook fires because they figure they're just unavoidable accidents, but that's not always true. There could have been a gas leak, a botched installation or repair, the proper may have been in poor condition, there may have been issues with smoke detectors, an appliance or electronic may have been defective, etc. Likely or not, it's important all possibilities get attention from investigators. Even if the incident was truly unavoidable, the victim's loved ones deserve to know they're getting the full story.
