Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People often jump to conclusions with single-vehicle wrecks since there's just the one driver involved. Like any serious accident, though, it's up to the evidence to tell the story. The challenge is in making sure someone is actually looking for that evidence.
Sometimes, authorities are careful to spend enough time and effort looking into even unlikely possible factors. That way, they can be sure they're not missing anything important. However, I've had many cases where secondary independent investigations showed authorities overlooked all kinds of important details because they moved on too quickly. It remains to be seen how investigations have been handled here.
