My concern with crashes like this is authorities sometimes are too quick to chalk everything up to the weather conditions. The conditions no doubt played a role, but that's no excuse to forego proper investigations. There needs to be a thorough examination of the scene, an inspection of the vehicles, and securing of electronic evidence just like a serious crash in perfect weather conditions. Otherwise, something important could slip through the cracks. Families shouldn't have to worry that they're not getting the whole story just because there's some ice and snow on the ground. They deserve clear answers—rain, sleet, or snow. Hopefully authorities are taking those steps here.
