Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With an accident like this, it's important to know if investigators are focusing on the facts or letting bias get in the way. While I have no inside information on this specific accident, I've seen many cases in my career where authorities were less willing to give a victim the benefit of the doubt if they were young and inexperienced. Ultimately, the evidence needs to speak for itself, and that's as true for teen drivers as it is for middle-aged drivers. If nothing else, it can be a massive weight off a family's shoulders to know their loved one's side of the story is being taken seriously. Hopefully steps are being taken to see that happens here.
