Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the challenges with single-vehicle wrecks is people tend to jump to conclusions. Folks figure since there's just one driver involved, blame should be obvious. But there are all kinds of factors which can contribute both to the crash itself and even the injuries separately. It's important to know those possible factors are getting attention.
Has the vehicle been inspected for potential defects? Did a tire blowout? Are there issues with road maintenance in this area? Was there an object in the road? Was there another reckless driver involved who left the scene? Did authorities look for any nearby cameras with a view of the road? Have they pulled electronic data from the vehicle?
At the end of the day, a serious crash needs a serious investigation. Jumping to conclusions won't do any good for anyone, least of all the victims involved in the crash.
