Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-run Accident on Concord Road in Beaumont, TX
Beaumont, TX — July 28, 2024, a pedestrian sustained injuries due to a car accident at around 3:00 a.m. along Concord Road.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Concord Road and Delaware Street.
Investigators said that a 26-year-old man was on foot along southbound lanes of Concord. While there, a southbound Hyundai Tucson struck the man. Due to the collision, the pedestrian was seriously injured.
Authorities say the driver left the scene, but details suggest that person was identified and recommended to face charges.

However things ultimately played out here, I wonder if authorities looked into why the driver left the scene. A lot of the time, there is something specific the driver doesn't want authorities to find out about. It could have been anything from warrants to drunk driving, and finding out for sure sometimes shows there needs to be more consequences than just for leaving the scene.
